Boomer Trends for 2007

Dec 16th, 2007 • Category: Consumer Insight

Boomers are redefining what mid-life looks, feels and sounds like in America. They are embracing technologies that will enable them to remain engaged and active much longer. Their purchasing clout has enormous effect on trends in the workplace, health, technology, recreation, family life and politics. According to Age Lessons, the up and coming Boomer trends for 2007 include:

Faux Families. Unmarried, single Boomers will form faux families based on similar interests and affinities in order to share daily living, holidays, birthdays and life’s major moments.

Retro Sports. Anticipate a revival of non-contact, less demanding sports like tetherball, flag tag, hopscotch and other games that minimize the wear and tear on knees and cartilage.

Cultural Renaissance. Boomers will pursue long-dormant artistic interests in music, painting and writing.

Vitamins and Natural Beverages
. Expect a surge in demand for custom vitamin elixirs and beverages that are customized to an individual’s body chemistry.

“Anniversoirees”.
Boomers will be celebrating successful marriages with big, stylized blow-out 25th anniversary parties.
