Kochan & Company Puts Mystique Casino in Hog Heaven- June 2010
Players at Kochan & Company client Mystique Casino are in Hog Heaven. This new promotion runs now thru July 29 and offers up to a total of $64,000 in prizes, with grand prizes that include four $500 Reward Dollars and one $22,000 gift certificate to Dubuque Harley Davidson. Kochan & Company designed the creative campaign and placed the media, which includes outdoor, print, online and radio ads in the Dubuque, IA, Rockford, IL and Madison, WI markets. Hog Heaven direct mail, web video and on-site collateral, including plasma and marquee motion graphics, are part of the overall strategy to increase rated play of Allure (Players Club) Members. Mystique will also use Facebook and Twitter to remind friends and followers about the weekly drawings and bonus entries on Mondays.

Kochan & Company’s New Capabilities Brochures
One of the challenges for an agency is to consistently create and update their own marketing materials, since its clients’ needs are always the top priority. So the creation of new agency materials is a very exciting in-house event. The capabilities brochures feature the agency’s new identity and were created in several versions to highlight the agency’s expertise in specific industries. The new Kochan & Company identity was developed earlier this year for an agency media department brochure and incorporates the dynamic colors used throughout the agency headquarters, with the agency brand position, We Move People®. The bolder agency identity will be incorporated into all Kochan & Company marketing materials and online positioning.
Consort Homes’ New “ECO” Campaign
As the largest green-certified builder in the St. Louis area, Consort Homes asked Kochan & Company to develop a campaign that focused on their “Live Green” positioning, while also featuring their new, up-front pricing program. The Kochan & Company team put our years of homebuilding marketing experience to work for Consort as we tackled their objectives.
We met those objectives in 2 ways. First, we crafted an identity for their new pricing structure called “Perfect Price”. With “Perfect Price”, our client can take a position of superiority with a statement that is completely credible and unique in the marketplace. This identity can easily be incorporated into all aspects of Consort Homes’ marketing. Then, we created the “ECO” campaign. This creative features headlines that reinforce Consort Homes’ commitment to green building: “Eco-logical”, while offering the highest quality construction and energy saving materials, features and appliances for the best price: “Eco-nomical”. The campaign clearly supports our client’s existing “Live Green” branding, and their new “Perfect Price” program. The creative is flexible and can easily be adapted to the messaging that the client feels is most relevant to the market.
Consort Homes launched their new marketing campaign, “ECO”, in late February. Kochan & Company also placed the media for this campaign, which includes print and online ads in various publications and websites. The campaign will run in the St. Louis area through 2010.
Argosy Event Attracts Standing Room Only Crowd!
Argosy Casino’s latest Rock ‘n Roll Bingo contest attracted more than 250 people to Argosy’s Music Hall. The free event, presented by St. Louis radio station KIHT and hosted by popular air personality Mark Klose, allows guests to vie for concert tickets, football and hockey tickets, buffet passes and other prizes. Contestants play 10 games of bingo; rock ‘n roll trivia questions are also asked throughout the evening. Attendance is generated by on-air station promotion, web presence, direct mail and on-property signs touting the event, which is open to all Argosy Preferred members. Rock ‘n Roll Bingo began in 2008, and continues to grow in popularity.

Some of my favorite jobs to work on at Kochan & Company have been for casinos because I enjoy the challenge of finding just the right solution for final production. Many casino marketing projects (slot toppers, slot wobblers, etc) require creative thinking and research to discover the right material and right vendor for the job. One of our casino clients needed something to conceal a number of large, unattractive air conditioning units from their customers. We suggested large window clings. These clings give them the ability to advertise upcoming promotions, concerts, and restaurant specials ….and the client can change messages as often as needed. We were able to deliver a creative, attractive solution in a timely and cost-efficient way.
I also think it’s great that we can provide our clients with high quality materials and consistent colors throughout an entire promotion or event, so that all our casino marketing projects look great no matter how many different pieces we create.
I’ve been working on casino marketing for more than 6 years now, and I really enjoy designing/developing campaigns based on the casino’s needs. I’d have to say it’s not always easy figuring out the perfect combination of visuals and messaging, but branding is necessary and valuable to the rest of casino marketing. It affects print, outdoor, direct mail and even the way to approach promotional design. I like designing promotional graphics that put off good vibes to potential customers, so they will decide to participate.

Argosy Casino – Alton’s newest promotion breaks September 4th, with a top prize of $10,000 cash.
The 100K Cash ‘n Carry giveaway will spread the wealth in cash and points; participants can
win instant point prizes, with cash awarded on Sundays, Wednesdays, during two mini-grand prize
drawings, and at the final grand prize drawing November 22. New creative includes billboards,
banners, posters, slot toppers, web banner ads and radio. The Kochan & Company team on this
casino marketing work includes senior art director Kevin Steen, art director Michelle Imboden and
account executive Karen Robben.
In July, Kochan & Company client Mystique hopes to keep their slots running hot with a cool “Christmas in July” promotion, featuring unexpected creative that finds Santa frolicking at the beach and no snow in sight! This casino promotion will offer up to a total of $23,000 in prizes and is designed to drive retail traffic and to increase rated play among its Allure Card players. Kochan & Company also placed the media for the campaign, which will run in the Dubuque/IA, Madison/WI and Rockford/IL markets. Kochan provided all the broadcast, interactive and print creative for “Christmas in July”, and the on-property signage, which includes plasma screens, outdoor marquee, window clings and Web. The campaign breaks in early July and will run through July 25.
Creative for June
The Jones Company, a Centex company, just debuted a new “Reasons” advertising campaign. Kochan & Company created the campaign, which stresses the current combination of financing opportunities, federal incentives and industry-leading home warranty programs as compelling reasons to buy a new home right now from the area’s oldest homebuilder. The new creative, which includes print, outdoor, radio and interactive is scheduled to run most of the summer in the Greater St. Louis area.
